Statutes
1.1 The Statute aims for transparency and diversity. It should be laid out and further developed according to the spirit of the journal’s programme.
1.2 The editorial board seeks written suggestions and objections to the journal. Even partial publication of these is only considered with consent from the author concerned.
2.1 The journal is published yearly as a volume with a page count of approx. minimum 50 to maximum 150 pages. It consists of a research article section and a research forum section. Each section has an appendix. From the second volume onwards, the two sections are to have a ratio of 2:1 (respectively), although this ratio may vary as the journal develops (see Programme). Such variation shall be determined by the editorial board.
2.2 The topics of the journal may not be set more than three years in advance.
2.3 The Contribution Rules apply to publications.
3.1 The Statutes and Programme can only be modified by agreement among the editorial board.
3.2 The editorial board can only be expanded by its unanimous agreement.
3.3 If a member of the editorial board compromises the development of the journal because they are shown to obstruct the fundamental intentions of the Programme and Statute, then they can be excluded only by unanimous decision of the remaining members of the editorial board.
3.4 If a member wishes to leave the editorial board, they must give at least one year’s notice, to ensure continuity for the journal.
3.5 The editorial board determines which members shall be responsible for each part of the journal and it employs editorial staff.
3.6 The editorial board can select guest editors for individual parts of the journal. Guest editors receive no specific rights because of this role.
3.7 The editorial board elects advisory board members by simple majority.
3.8 The members of the editorial board are also members of the advisory board.
3.9 The editorial board seeks a diversity-sensitive composition of the advisory board.
4.1 The advisory board members regularly take part in the production of the journal, for example by contributing to the peer-review process.
4.2 Advisory board members may suggest further members.
4.3 Advisory board members may suggest themes for the research forum section.
4.4 Advisory board members have the right to publish unabridged opinion pieces on all itdb contributions up to two pages long. Editorial board members may write opinion pieces in their capacity as advisory board members.
5.1 Specific rules apply to the research forum section. All contributions in the research forum section are combined as discussions in various formats.
5.2 To enable open discussion, no editorial influence shall be exercised on selected contributions as long as legal limits are respected.
